About Angela
ABOUT ME
My journey with art began long before I picked up a brush. It started with the courage of my parents, who immigrated from Italy as children and built a life of love and opportunity here in Melbourne. By age eight, while other children were playing games, I was immersed in the world of oil paints and portraiture under the guidance of a local mentor. That early spark evolved into a prolific career—from the technical architecture of couture bridal to my current role as a multi-disciplinary educator. Today, backed by a loving husband and two children, I am stepping into a new chapter where art remains my compass and my greatest passion.
MY PREVIOUS PATH
With a foundation in tertiary art and professional pattern making, my career has been a 25-year evolution of design and craftsmanship. After co-founding a fashion label and establishing myself as a commissioned portrait artist, I opened a boutique studio in Glen Iris. There, I spent 18 years specializing in high-end bridal couture, managing everything from initial sketches and technical pattern drafting to bespoke fittings.
NOW
For the first time in my career, the priority is my own vision. I am at a threshold where I can finally focus on the how and the why of my work, allowing my style to evolve with every stroke of the brush. At my core, I am—and will always be—a romantic artist. My work is inextricably woven into the world of fashion; it is the very fabric of my identity. I am now dedicated to creating high-fashion portraiture that captures the essence of womanhood, and I hope my pieces evoke the viewer, if not just a glimpse of what I share with all my heart, the elegance, history, and romance of art itself.
